Kenny Brown (born on the Air Force base in Selma, Alabama, July 5, 1953) is a blues guitarist from Mississippi. One of the few white musicians skilled in playing in traditional blues styles, Kenny Brown grew up in Nesbit, a town in DeSoto County, northern Mississippi about 25 miles south of Memphis, Tennessee, and learned to play blues from Mississippi Joe Callicott, Johnny Woods, and Mississippi Fred McDowell. In 1971 Kenny Brown began performing with R.L. Burnside, who claimed Kenny Brown as his "adopted son". Kenny Brown is best known for his slide guitar playing and records for the Fat Possum Records label. Kenny Brown lives in Potts Camp, Mississippi, located in Marshall County near Holly Springs, in the North Mississippi Hill Country. (quoted from wikipedia.org)
